GFPS accepts playground, cafeteria tables, freezers and paper donations

Meadowlark Elementary is getting new cafeteria tables and West Elementary is getting new playground equipment thanks to recent donations.

During their Jan. 12 meeting, the Great Falls Public Schools board accepted:

  • $32,906.74 from Jim and Debbie Filipowicz for Meadowlark tables
  • $217,614.47 from Roger Duncan and Pam Nommensen for West’s playground

The new playground equipment is scheduled to be installed this summer.

GFPS formally accepts new Lewis and Clark Elementary playground [2025]

Lacee Lewis, West principal, wrote in a letter to the board, that the donation will “support the installation of new playground equipment, including swings and handicapped-accessible features, ensuring that all students–including those with mobility or physical challenges-can fully participate in safe and inclusive play. This upgrade will greatly enrich our students’ physical, social and emotional development.”

The board also accepted a donation from Candice English, of Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, of a chest freezer to Great Falls High and a stand-up freezer to Longfellow Elementary for their school pantries.

GFPS elementary libraries getting remodel through donations [2024]

Printing Center USA donated 32 pallets of paper to GFPS, which the board accepted during the Jan. 12 meeting.

Superintendent Heather Hoyer said the donation included a variety of paper types.
