GFPS elementary libraries getting remodel through donations

The Great Falls Public Schools district will be renovating the libraries at West Elementary and Lewis and Clark Elementary schools thanks to a donation from the estate of Nancy A. Cameron.

Nancy Cameron’s estate donated the funds to the GFPS Foundation for elementary media centers within the district.

Stephanie Becker, foundation director, told the school board during their March 11 meeting that $100,000 would be directed to both West and Lewis and Clark for the projects.

The district is using Cushing Terrell for the design of the library at West and LPW Architecture for the design at Lewis and Clark, according to the foundation.

The district and foundation will work closely during the design phase, Becker said, and construction will be managed by the district.

Funding for the projects will be transferred to the district over the course of each project, following a schedule agreed upon by the district and foundation.

“We’re really excited to see this work take place and for this vision of the donor who so generously contributed these funds,” Becker said.
