Construction begins Aug. 18 on the south end of the 10th Street Bridge.
The project runs through the end of September and the walking bridge will be closed during the construction.

City approves 10th Street Bridge repair contract
The project won’t affect vehicle traffic, according to Great Falls Park and Recreation.
City Commissioners approved a $126,888 contract to Smith River Construction for the project, which is being funded by Preservation Cascade Inc., during their June 3 meeting.
The city owns the bridge, which was transferred from the Montana Department of Highways in 1998.
A second agreement between the city and Preservation Cascade, a local nonprofit, provided for a public-private partnership to preserve the bridge.
In April 2021, the commission approved a land swap with Independence Bank, giving the city more river frontage to connect the bridge to the River’s Edge Trail.

The city received two bids for the project ranging from$126,88 to $211,393 with Smith River Construction submitting the low bid.
