GFPD investigating Target parking lot shooting
The Great Falls Police Department is investigating an early morning July 13 death in the Target parking lot.
Around 2:30 a.m., 911 dispatchers received reports of someone being shot at 2000 10th Ave. S.
Upon arriving on scene, officers found a group of people including one person with a gunshot wound who died at the scene, according to GFPD.

GFPD detectives and the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.
According to GFPD, a suspect was taken into custody and there’s no threat the p the public.
By late morning, law enforcement was clearing the scene.

“We extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the decedent,” GFPD said in a release.
Since it’s an active investigation, GFPD said in a statement that it wouldn’t be releasing further information on Sunday.
