Woman charged for February jail drug smuggling
Around 2:15 a.m. July 9, a GFPD officer responded to an apartment at 3345 11th Ave. S. where it was reported that a female had been hit on the head and her phone had been stolen.
While approaching the apartment, the officer saw a shattered iPhone 13 Pro Max lying on the sidewalk, photographing and collecting it as evidence.
Entering the apartment, the officer talked to the victim, who said her ex-boyfriend, Picotte, had assaulted her after they’d broken up the day before.
Andrade charged in early morning shooting death
The victim told the officer that around 2 a.m., she was trying to go to sleep and the window above her bed was partially open when her cat had been sitting in the window but then suddenly jumped down and she saw Picotte standing in the window, according to charging documents.
The victim told the officer that Picotte pointed a gun at her, telling to put her phone on the windowsill, then told her to come open the sliding door that leads to the balcony and let him in or he would shoot her or break the window, according to court documents.
Suspect charged for stolen vehicle, pursuit, crash
She said she knew Picotte had a handgun with a red laser on it and that night he pointed the laser at her while demanding she open the door. She told the officer she’d seen the handgun before and had seen cartridges for it, according to court documents.
The victim reported that she was scared so she opened the door, letting Picotte inside, and that as he walked in, he hit her, grabbed her by the throat, squeezing and pushing her back into her bedroom, according to court documents.
The move restricted her breathing so she couldn’t talk or yell and the victim reported that Picotte strangled her for about 30 seconds.
Picotte hit her with a closed fist and open hand about 30 times, the victim told the responding officer, according to court documents, who observed she had a bruise to the left side of her face that was starting to swell.
The victim said Picotte had told her “remember my face,” then, something to the effect of “you’re going to die today,” or “I’m going to kill you,” according to court documents, but the victim couldn’t remember exactly what he said.
Picotte allegedly spare car key across the room, walked out of her bedroom, kicking and breaking a tv valued at $100 on his way out, leaving with her cell phone, according to court documents.
The officer wrote in his report that he observed a broken television on the floor and she confirmed that the phone he’d found on the sidewalk upon arriving on scene was hers.
The victim said they’d been dating for about three months and about a week prior he’d seen something on her phone that made him angry and he grabbed her by the throat, choking her and threw her phone against the wall.
The victim “is very afraid” of Picotte and “what he might do to her,” according to court documents.
Picotte has no prior PFMA convictions, according to court documents, and he’s currently being held in the Cascade County Adult Detention Center.
