GFPS approves Meadow Lark roof contract
The Great Falls Public Schools board voted during their Feb. 26 meeting to award a $1 million contract for a roof replacement at Meadow Lark Elementary School.
The school board approved advertising for bids in November and the district held a pre-bid walkthrough in January.
GFPS received three bids for the project ranging from $1,052,393 to $1,377,500.
The low bidder that was awarded the contract was Empire Roofing.

During their meeting, Brian Patrick, GFPS business operations manager, told the board that the district has a master plan that with Cushing Terrell Architects, has established a timeline on when school and facility roofs need to be replaced.
Patrick said that Meadow Lark was up this year.
Patrick said that it appears the market is beginning to stabilize and that for awhile, the prices “were literally through the roof.”
