Malmstrom missile used in test launch

An intercontinental ballistic missile from Malmstrom Air Force Base was used in a test launch at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California overnight.

The missile was pulled randomly from the 341st Missile Wing’s complex and transported to Vandenberg.

Anomaly causes termination of Malmstrom ICBM during test launch

Operators and maintainers from the 341st prepared the missile for launch, according to Air Force Global Strike Command.

The Air Force typically conducts four test launches ICBMs annually and the tests are not related to real world events since they’re planned six months to a year in advance according to the Air Force.
