Montana Shakespeare in the Parks returns to Great Falls this weekend.
The company is performing two live shows at the University of Providence on Aug. 7-8.
The pre-show with the Great Falls Theatre Company starts at 5:30 p.m. both nights and the main performance starts at 6 p.m.
The performances are free and open to the public.
The Aug. 7 show is Much Ado About Nothing and Aug. 8 is The Merchant of Venice.
Food options on site both evenings include the Bootlegger Bendit truck, Fire Pizza’s new truck and The Ice Box ice cream truck.
“Much Ado About Nothing” speaks to the joy and uncertainty of love, reputation, and the ways that community shapes our understanding of one another. This lively comedy unfolds in the aftermath of war, where returning soldiers and welcoming hosts find themselves drawn into courtship, clever schemes, and shifting perceptions, according to MSIP.
“The Merchant of Venice” explores justice, mercy, prejudice, and the longing to belong in a divided world. Through romance and courtroom drama, Shakespeare examines the cost of exclusion and the transformative power of mercy, according to MSIP.
