GFPD, Malmstrom bomb squad investigating suspicious item in Gibson Park; public asked to avoid area
Great Falls Police and the Malmstrom Air Force Base explosive ordnance disposal team are responding to suspicious item near the south end of Gibson Park.
The public is asked to stay away from the south end of the park, nearest Park Drive North and 1st Avenue North while they investigate.
GFPD said 911 dispatchers received a report around 12:10 p.m. Nov. 6 of a suspicious item and officers determined it has the characteristics of an explosive device so “out of an abundance of caution” called Malmstrom EOD to assist.
