Calumet, Montana Renewables conducting safety drill Oct. 22
Calumet Montana and Montana Renewables are conducting a plant-wide shelter-in-place drill at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22.
During the drill, the plant emergency notification system will be activated.
Employees will be instructed to remain indoors, secure their work areas, and follow shelter-in-place protocols as outlined in the facility’s emergency response plan, according to Calumet.
This exercise may be noticeable to the surrounding community due to audible alarms and changes in employee activity but it’s a planned safety drill and not an actual emergency.
In the event of a real incident requiring community action, specific instructions and guidance would be disseminated directly by city officials as part of a unified command structure, according to Calumet.
