McIver Road construction to start Aug. 26
Construction is set to begin Aug. 26 on McIver Road for about 4.15 miles to the Ulm-Vaughn cut across.
Through Sept. 12, only the eastbound lane will be open for traffic and the westbound lane will be detoured.
Drivers are asked to be aware of work signs, detours, road closures and construction posted speed limits and workers.
Cascade County Commissioners are scheduled to consider awarding the $1,077,883.75 construction contract to United Materials during their Aug. 27 meeting.
The county planning officer previously hired Big Sky Civil and Environmental for engineering services to plan, design and provide construction supervision for this project to overlay about 4.15 miles of McIver Road.
The work will begin around 580 McIver Road and run west for about 4.15 miles, including asphalt leveling, dig outs, asphalt overlay, chip seal and paint.
The work is expected to be completed by winter, according to county public works.
The county received two bids for the project, with United’s being the low bid.
