This weekend, Montana Rush hosted the Montana Cup at Siebel Soccer Complex in Great Falls.

Jeremiah Kirschman is the director of the soccer club and talked about what this tournament means for Montana Rush.

“I was so excited to get the opportunity to host the entire state of Montana this year,” he said.

Being centrally located in the state allows for Great Falls to be easily accessible and, in total, Kischman said 71 teams were participating in the tournament, eight of which are Montana Rush teams based here.

“Teams are coming from all over,” he said. “Missoula, Laurel, Kalispell, Helena, Butte, Big Sky, Stevensville, Billings and more.”

Players and coaches will be at the complex 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 7 and will wrap up by 5 p.m. June 8 after champions have been recognized.

Kirschman said this event would not be possible with volunteers.

“We will have roughly 500 volunteers, helping with parking, concessions, administration tasks, refereeing, medical assistance, field marshalling and maintenance,” Kirschman said.

Several local food trucks and vendors are providing food at the complex and the tournament was sponsored by Pepsi and Identity Screen Printing.

Kirschman said there is much to be proud of in relation to this tournament.

Asked what what stood out, he said, “I am most proud of my team of volunteers and the MT Rush Board who fought to get the opportunity to host this tournament not just this year, but also next year. We hope to do an incredible job hosting the state of Montana’s soccer players.”
