The city dog park will close at 6 a.m. May 27 through June 16 for annual turf repair.

High use causes wear and tear to the park, which will be fertilized, overseeded and irrigated.

The park will be closed for about three weeks to allow the turf to rejuvenate and recover.

The Park and Recreation Department is tentatively planning to reopen the park on June 16.

The park opened in July 2009 and is a popular destination for dog owners.

The city appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the closure.
