City seeking applicants for multiple advisory boards

The city is seeking applicants for several advisory boards.

Applications are available at the city manager’s office upstairs in the Civic Center, by calling 406-455-8450; or downloaded here.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. May 20.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee consists of six members to include the mayor, a commissioner, city manager, finance director and two private citizens.

The committee provides assurance that financial disclosures made by management reasonably portray the city’s financial condition and oversees the external audit coverage, reviews accounting policies and reviews financial statements.

Experience or interest in financial information is helpful.

The current opening is to fill the remainder of a three-year term through June 30, 2026.

Applicants must reside within the city limits.

Business Improvement District

The Business Improvement District board consists of seven members appointed by the city commission and oversees the functions, operations, management and administration as necessary to carry out the purposes and objectives of the BID.

Interested applicants must be owners of property within the BID boundaries or their personal representative, agent or guardian.

Meetings are scheduled on the second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.

The opening is to fill a four-year term through June 30, 2029.

Tourism Business Improvement District

The Tourism Business Improvement District Board consists of five to seven trustees which oversees the functions, operations, management and administration as necessary to carry out the purposes and objectives of the TBID.

Trustees must be an owner within the district or their assignee.

The board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. at the University of Providence, McLaughlin Center, 1415 20th St. S., Providence Forum.

The opening is to fill a four-year term through June 30, 2029.

Great Falls Housing 

The Great Falls Housing Board consists of seven commissioners appointed by the city commission; two tenant members and five non-tenant members.

The board sets policy for operation and management of public housing properties, HUD-Section 8 programs, and other affordable housing programs. The Housing Authority provides safe, decent, sanitary and affordable housing for the community’s low income residents.

Applicants should have expertise in the areas of law, architecture, real estate, engineering, finance, clergy or social work.

The current opening is for a non-tenant member for a five-year term through June 30, 2030.

Great Falls Public Library

The library’s board of trustees consists of five members and exists to advise, recommend and advocate for the library in the city limits and within Cascade County.

The board supports the work of the library and provides leadership to the library director as well as leadership to the community regarding library services and resources.

Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m.

The opening is to fill a five-year term through June 30, 2030.

Applicants must reside within the city limits.

Parking Advisory Commission

The Parking Advisory Commission consists of five members, appointed by the city commission, and an ex-officio member appointed by the Business Improvement District.

The PAC advises the city commission, city manage and planning department on parking within the downtown parking district.

Experience or interest in the Great Falls central business district is helpful but not necessary.

Applicants must reside within the city limits.

The opening is to fill a three-year term through April 30, 2028.
