Photos: UP men’s basketball falls to Montana Tech in Frontier Conference Championship
The University of Providence men’s basketball program fell 69-50 to Montana Tech in the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship on March 4.

The Argos scored the first points of the game off a three from junior Ryan Chavez, but the Orediggers responded outscoring the Argos to take a 14-7 lead.
The Argos followed with a three from senior Antoine Boyd, Jr. and free throws from senior Jamil Bowles to keep the Argos within striking distance midway through the first half, according to the UP game recap.
The Orediggers continued to extend the lead out to 11 but scores from senior Dylan Hushaw and Bowles cut the Argo deficit to seven with two minutes remaining in the half.
Bowles scored first in the second half brining UP within two, but a 22-8 run from the Orediggers gave Montana Tech an 18-point lead with nine minutes left in the half, according to the game recap.
The Argos continued with threes from Wright Jr., Chavez, and freshman Quinn Swanson, but the Argos were unable to close the gap as UP fell in the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship 69-50.
Montana Tech was the only men’s basketball team in the Frontier Conference to advance to the national tournament.
