GFFR responds to early morning structure fire

Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 2:38 a.m. Feb. 15 at 1139 5th St. S.

The fire caused significant damage to an attached shed but did not spread to the trailer home, according to GFFR.

Utilities were turned off in the trailer, so the resident is staying with a neighbor and there were no injuries sustained due to the fire, according to GFFR.

GFFR: Fire property damages increased in recent months over last year

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

GFFR issued and filled a callback for an engine company during the fire response. It’s common during structure fires, since all four of the city’s on duty engine companies typically respond to structure fires. The callback company covers the rest of the city while the other deal with the structure fire.

GFFR also requested mutual aid from the Montana Air National Guard and Malmstrom Air Force Base fire departments, which is also common during structure fires.
