Library hosting digital literacy workshops

The Great Falls Public Library is hosting six weeks of free in-person digital literacy workshops.

The workshops will be held on Thursdays, every other week, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the small meeting room in the library’s basement, beginning Feb. 6.

The program is provided by GFPL and the Public Library Association in partnership with AT&T.

The workshops are geared toward people who need help getting started using basic digital terms and tools that are crucial for navigating today’s online world, according to the library.

Some of the workshops will be led by Great Falls College-Montana State University staff.

Participants should being their own laptop or tablet if they have one.

There will be a few available for use, but it is always better to learn on your own device, according to the library.

All sessions are in-person only and no recordings will be available.

Activity sheets and certificates of completion will be provided to attendees. There also will be a short question and answer period after each session.

Snacks will be provided.

The schedule is:

  • Feb 6: computer basics
  • Feb. 20: internet basics
  • March 6: email basics
  • March 20: cybersecurity
  • April 3: video conferencing basics
  • April 17: mobile devices
