The city, Fish Wildlife and Parks and Walleyes Unlimited Great Falls Chapter are again offering Christmas tree recycling this year.

Live Christmas trees are biodegradable, meaning they can be reused or recycled for other purposes and the recycled trees will be composted or used to improve fish habitat.

Christmas tree recycling containers will be available through Jan. 9 at:

  • Meadowlark Park at Fox Farm and Park Garden Road
  • American Little League parking lot at 1100 38th St. N.

All lights, decorations and tree stands should  be removed before recycling trees.

Flocked trees cannot be recycled and should not be taken to recycling locations.

Commercial trees will not be accepted and only live Christmas trees should be deposited in the containers.
