GFPS hosting listening sessions

Great Falls Public Schools is hosting listening sessions this month.

The sessions are Oct. 28-30 with various times available each day.

Community members have “unique perspectives and we would like to have as many points of view as possible as we are planning for the future at GFPS,” according to Jackie Mainwaring, assistant superintendent. “From stakeholders, we would like to hear what is important about Great Falls Public Schools and the priorities they have. These sessions will help inform a great deal of work we do, but specifically will support our projected budget shortfall and the development of a district wide communication plan.”

To participate, contact Jackie Mainwaring at 406-268-6006 or email jackie_mainwaring@gfps.k12.mt.us.

District administration and school board members have been working through their strategic plan with dedicated work sessions in recent months and are planning for expected budget shortfalls as COVID relief funds run out and the state funding formula doesn’t currently provide enough funding to cover expenses.
