City seeking applicants for planning, appeals boards
The city is seeking applicants for the board of adjustment/appeals and the planning board.
Citizen interest forms are available in the city manager’s office upstairs at the Civic Center, by calling 406-455-8450 or downloaded from the city website.
Board of Adjustment/Appeals
The city is seeking applicants for this board for a three-year term beginning Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2027.
The board hears and decides appeals regarding zoning, housing and building codes and ordinances; hears and decides requests for variances from standards set forth in zoning ordinances; and hears and decides all other matters referred to the board regarding zoning, housing and building ordinances.
This board also hears and decides appeals when it is specifically identified to do so by ordinance or resolution.
Members must be city residents and should be qualified by experience or training in construction matters.
Candidates with architecture or design backgrounds would be preferable but not required.
The board meets on demand on the first Thursday of the month at 3 p.m.

Planning Advisory Board
The city is seeking applicants for this board to serve a there-year term beginning Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027.
Terms for three board members are set to expire at the end of December.
Applicants must reside within the city limits.
The seven-member planning board advises the City Commission on various aspects of growth and development to include the growth policy, zoning, subdivision, annexation, transportation and other land use issues.
The board meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 3 p.m.
