The city’s public works utilities division closed 2nd Avenue North at 46th Street to westbound traffic on Sept. 2 for a water main repair.

The road was expected to reopen on Sept. 3, but there were delays and parts had to be ordered.

According to public works, the water main leak has been repaired and the backfill completed.

The road will remain closed through 6 a.m. Sept. 9 to allow the backfill to cure, according to public works.

The utilities division is providing barricades and detour signs in the area to reroute traffic.
