Great Falls Area Community Foundation hosting board training sessions

The Great Falls Area Community Foundation has developed the nonprofit board of excellence classes to assist local organizations as they grow.

The foundation will host the fall nonprofit board series at The History Museum in October.

Board Basics is both an effective welcome for new board members and an engaging refresher for more seasoned volunteers. Two sessions are available on Oct. 21.

An Executive Toolkit tailored to professional nonprofit executive directors, administrators, managers, and CEOs, which will be offered during the lunch period on Oct. 21.

A Communication and Teamwork session is scheduled for Oct. 22.

Spaces are limited and registration on Eventbrite is required.

Last winter, all the seats were taken and prospective attendees were put on a waitlist.

Course descriptions below:

BOARD BASICS: Morning or evening session on Oct. 21: This class provides actionable advice for seasoned board members and newbies alike. Learn how to become a better board member by improving your governance, fundraising, and storytelling abilities. Understand principles and practices to elevate the impact of your organization. Two
sessions are available: 9- 11 a.m. or 6-8 p.m. with light refreshments. $20

EXECUTIVE TOOLKIT: Oct. 21 noon to 2 p.m. Take back tangible tools you can implement immediately. This class is tailored for professional staff of nonprofit organizations. Topics will include board governance, performance reviews,
finance, marketing, and mission alignment. We hope this session will inspire and enable you to elevate your impact. Lunch will be provided. $60

COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK: Oct. 22 9-11 a.m. An in-depth workshop on trust building, internal communications, and intergenerational teamwork. Nonprofit organizations can be stymied by differing communication
styles and preferences. Light refreshments will be provided. $20
