County considering new law enforcement agreements with Belt, Cascade
County Commissioners will consider new agreements with the towns of Belt and Cascade during their Aug. 13 meeting for law enforcement and prosecutorial services.
The Belt agreement runs July 1 through June 30, 2025 for $67,648.40.
The Cascade agreement runs for the same term for $67,638.32.
County approves Belt resident deputy agreement [2020]
Under the agreements, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office will conduct regular patrols in both towns; conduct necessary and reasonable investigation of public or government complaints indicating a possible or apparent public officer; provide law enforcement support services, attend a minimum of six town council meetings annually to keep lines of communication open.
Under the agreement with Belt and Cascade, CCSO will provide 20 hours of law enforcement services weekly in or around the towns, for a total of 1,040 hours for the term of the agreement.
CCSO rolling out community deputy program [2023]
CCSO will provide the town a schedule showing the deputies generally assigned to work in or near the town.
Under the agreement, CCSO will staff the Belt and Cascade rodeo during the summer and the town will reimburse CCSO for actual expenses.
The county has had similar agreements with Belt and Cascade for years that are reviewed annually and brought to commissioners for approval.
