One Malmstrom airman killed, five injured in vehicle incident
On airman was killed and three injured in a vehicle incident on Malmstrom Air Force Base on June 29.
Two additional airmen were injured when responding to the incident, according to Malmstrom public affairs.
The five injured airmen were transported to nearby medical facilities. No information on their condition was released by Malmstrom.
“Each of our airmen are amazing and are vital members of our team,” Col. Dan Voorhies, 341st Missile Wing commander, said in a release. “We will need time to grieve for our teammate that we lost and for our injured members to heal both physically and mentally. Our focus right now, is to make sure that all of Team Malmstrom have the support they need to make it through this difficult time.”

Malmstrom officials said the cause of the incident is under investigation and “all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of our personnel and prevent future incidents.”
No information will be released regarding the deceased airman until next of kin notifications have been made, according to Malmstrom officials.
