Dog park to close for annual turf repair
High use at the Pacific Steel and Recycling Trailside Dog Park has caused water and tear damage to the park.
The dog park will be closed to the public May 20 through June 9 for annual turf repair.
During the closure, the park will be fertilized, overseeded and irrigated. Great Falls Park and Recreation staff will allow about three weeks for the turf to rejuvenate and recover.
The park is tentatively set to reopen on June 10.
Since the park opened in July 2009, it has become one of the city’s most popular destinations for dog owners, according to Park and Rec.
