Opportunity Bank awards grants to four Montana nonprofits

Opportunity Bank of Montana, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, has awarded $40,000 in grants to four Montana nonprofit organizations.

Each nonprofit will receive $10,000 to support initiatives in community development and affordable housing.

The funding was part of a matching program with FHLB Des Moines.

For every dollar provided by Opportunity Bank, FHLB Des Moines provided additional support, maximizing the impact of the grants, according to a release.

Organizations receiving grants to support affordable housing or community development needs in Montana include:

These grants are part of a larger effort by FHLB Des Moines to return a portion of their income to the community, with the aim of supporting housing and local development initiatives across its district, which includes 13 states and three U.S. Pacific territories.

Numerous organizations across this district have benefitted from these efforts. The recipient nonprofits are leaders in addressing crucial community needs, including affordable housing, economic development and community improvement. Over the next few weeks, grants will be formally presented at a series of upcoming events as funds are distributed.
