GFFR responded to 15 calls, including two structure fires, in one day
Great Falls Fire Rescue had a busy weekend.
Over a 24 hour period on April 7, GFFR responded to 15 calls for service, of which two were working structure fires.
The first fire occurred at 2200 Central Ave.
The call came into dispatch at 9:20 a.m. and GFFR crews were dispatched at 9:21 a.m. with two engine crews arriving on scene at 9:25 a.m., according to GFFR.
When they arrived on scene, crews found a fire in the wall behind the chimney of the house.
The Engine 3 crew quickly extinguished the fire and limited fire damage to the living room of the house, according to GFFR.
The homeowner was home at the time of the fire and was uninjured.
The fire was ruled accidental, according to GFFR.
The second fire was called into dispatch at 1:25 p.m. on 2213 Grape Court.

GFFR crews were dispatched at 1:26 p.m. with a GFFR crew arriving on scene at 1:28 p.m.
Upon arrival, the homeowners told GFFR firefighters that there had been a small grease fire above the stove that they extinguished, according to GFFR.
Firefighters investigated the kitchen to ensure the fire hadn’t gotten into the walls or cabinets and found it to be contained to the stove top, according to GFFR.
On April 7, GFFR also responded to two lift assists, two false alarm activations, six medical calls, one welfare check, one gas smell in a structure and one water leak.
