To participate, children can create a picture or write a story about either or both featured animal and drop of their creations at the museum’s front desk, with parental permission.
The museum and shelter will feature selected work weekly on their Facebook pages.
“We are delighted to partner with the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter on this meaningful project,” Stacy Hoehn, museum board president, said in a release. “By combining art and storytelling, we hope to instill valuable lessons of compassion and empathy in children, while also raising awareness about the plight of homeless animals.”
Those interested in adopting one of the animals featured in the animal art contest can contact the shelter at 406-454-2276 or fill out an adoption application on their website.
