GFPD, Marshals take person into custody near Walmart on westside

The Great Falls Police Department said shortly after 5 p.m. Feb. 29 that community members may have noticed a large police presence near the westside Walmart over the last 30 minute.

Officers from GFPD and the U.S. Marshals Task Force, including some in plain clothes, took a wanted person into custody for an out-of-state felony warrant, according to GFPD.

School Resource Officer Kristi Kinsey put North Middle School into a shelter in place to restrict access during after school activities due to the school’s proximity to Walmart as a precaution, according to GFPD.

At 5:05 p.m. GFPD sent a text to media that the shelter in place had been lifted and the incident was concluding.
