MDT seeking public comment on signage project
The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on a proposal to upgrade signage at various locations throughout northern Montana in MDT’s Great Falls District.
Work will occur in Blaine, Cascade, Glacier, Hill, Lewis and Clark, and Pondera counties.
The purpose of this project is to reduce the frequency of roadway departures by enhancing roadway safety features, according to MDT.
This project covers 12 sites across the district. The signs vary at each site but consist of curve signage, curve warning signage, intersection signage and delineation, according to MDT.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2025 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed, according to MDT.
Comments may be submitted online or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Great Falls office, P.O. Box 1359, Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Note that comments are for project UPN 10301000.
The public is encouraged to contact Great Falls District Preconstruction Engineer James Combs at 406-788-2773 or Project Design Engineer Sabastian Lucio at 406-345-8243 with questions or comments about the project.
