Council of Councils meets Oct. 29 to talk recycling, Madison Food Park

The Council of Councils meets Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center.

The Council of Councils includes delegates from each of the city’s nine Neighborhood Councils and two members of the City Commission. The council meets three times annually, generally in January, May and October, to discuss issues of citywide importance and share goals/projects in their council areas.

This month’s agenda includes an update from the Great Falls Police Department; information on Neighborhood Council 5’s Madison Food Park resolution; and a recycling panel with representatives from Republic Services, Pacific Steel and Recycling and the city’s sanitation division.

During the last Council of Councils meeting, the representatives discussed a desire to have recycling services in the city and went back to their respective council’s to gauge interest. City Manager Greg Doyon assembled the panel to share information on the costs, logistics and options for recycling in the city.
