Road closure for water main river crossing installation
The intersection of 19th Avenue South and Upper River Road will be closed to vehicles beginning Sept. 11 and completing Sept. 25, weather permitting.
Two-way traffic on Upper River Road will be maintained but traffic speed will be reduced in the construction area, according to city public works.
The closure is related to the installation of water main crossings under the Missouri and Sun rivers.
The city has contracted with The HDD Company for the installation and they have hired United Materials to install new 24-inch water main along the east side of Upper River Road. The work will extend from the north side of Blanchard Road through the intersection of 19th Avenue South and into Verde Park.
United Materials will provide traffic control in the area.
