City considering change to golf management agreement for alcohol license

During Tuesday’s meeting, City Commissioners will consider an addendum to its agreement with CourseCo for management of the city’s two golf courses.

The addendum would allow CourseCo to lease the city’s on premise alcoholic beverage license in conjunction with CourseCo’s operation of the city’s two golf courses during the agreement term through January 2022.

The agreement would require CourseCo to pay all fees assessed by the Montana Department of Revenue associated with obtaining an on premise alcoholic beverage license or renewals along with all taxes annexed or levied against the sales, according to the city staff report.

The agreement also required CourseCo to carry liquor liability coverage with limits not less than $2 million per occurrence.

According to the city’s staff report, the partnership will allow the city to profit from the sale of food and beverage “under the expertise of the management company. The ability to sell alcohol is an important component in the profitability of the concessions operation,” according to the staff report.
