Three neighborhood councils have events next week.
Neighborhood Council 7 meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 12 in the Gibson Room at the Civic Center. Agenda items include committee reports and neighborhood concerns. The council’s boundaries are the Original Townsite whose northern and western boundaries are the Missouri River, the southern boundary is 10th Avenue South, and the eastern boundary is 10th Street South north from 10th Avenue South to 7th Avenue South, then east to 12th Street South and north to 7th Avenue North, then east to 15th Street North and north to the Missouri River.
Neighborhood Council 8 is hosting their 16th Annual Ice Cream Social on Aug. 15 from 6-8 p.m. in Memorial Park at 19th Street and 2nd Avenue North. Free ice cream and root beer floats will be available — ice cream provided by Meadow Gold Dairy. The ice cream social is hosted in place of their monthly meeting.
Neighborhood Council 5 is hosting their Summer Social on Aug. 18 from 4-6 p.m. in Charles Russell Park Picnic Pavilion, 3300 15th Ave. S. Ice cream and refreshments provided by Super 1 Foods. The council’s regular monthly meeting is Aug. 19.
Monthly agendas are posted on the Neighborhood Councils online calendar at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
In Great Falls, there are nine neighborhood councils. Their purpose is to serve the citizens by providing a direct link to city government within the neighborhoods. Each council is made up of five members elected by the voters in that council area. Website | Facebook
