Former Malmstrom commander nominated as deputy of Air Force Global Strike Command
Lt. Gen. Anthony Cotton has been nominated for assignment as deputy commander of Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
Cotton is currently serving as commander and president of Air University at Air Education and Training Command at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
Cotton previously served as commander of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force and has commanded Air University since 2017.
He was previously commander of 20th Air Force at Global Strike Command and U.S. Strategic Command’s Task Force 214 at F.E. Warren AFB in Wyoming.
The Senate voted in December 2017 to confirm him for the rank of lieutenant general.
