Weekly update: city election filing
The filing period for city positions is open through June 17.
We check on the filings at least once a week and here’s the update for May 30.
The positions on the ballot this year are two City Commission seats, which are four-year terms, and the two-year mayor seat. Municipal judge and all 45 neighborhood council positions are open.
So far, Steve Bolstad has filed for another term as municipal judge and Bob Kelly has filed for another term as mayor.
Terry Thompson, director of the Great Falls Association of Realtors, has filed for a City Commission seat.
As of May 29, 22 people had filed for neighborhood councils.
For those councils, the filing counts are:

- Neighborhood Council 5: 4
- Neighborhood Council 6: 1

Commissioner Bill Bronson’s term is up and he is not seeking another term.
Commissioner Tracy Houck’s seat is also up. She posted on Facebook that she’s seeking another term but has not yet filed.
