Confero Sports Mixer is May 8

The Confero Sports Foundation Mixer is May 8 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Exhibition Hall at the Montana Expo Park.

For the fourth year, the Confero Sports Foundation is dedicating the mixer as a fundraiser for the city’s Multi Sports Complex to support improvements to the complex.

The softball community is partnering with the city in an effort to raise funds for Multi Sports facility improvements including replacing backstops and dugouts, and infield leveling. Fields 1-4 were completed in the past two years and Field 7 was recently completed, in part with funding from the park maintenance district assessment.

The event includes food and drink; live music; 50/50 drawing and a silent auction.

Individual tickets are $25 and a book of 10 tickets is $200.

“The Foundation is excited to concentrate their efforts on a specific project again this year, in order to make a significant impact for the Great Falls community,” Confero Sports Foundation Chairman Scott Lettre said in a release. “The Multi Sports Complex serves as a recreational facility for youth, high school, college and adult softball programs and is a catalyst for bringing softball tournaments to town, having a significant economic impact for Great Falls.”

Funds raised by the Confero Sports Foundation are used to ensure a long-term commitment to the major sports events held in Great Falls and to offer support to other potential sports events looking at our community as a destination.

For the past 37 years, the foundation has raised funds to promote major sporting events in Great Falls and contributions total $405,055.

The goal of Confero is to provide financial support for major sporting events, attracting thousands of fans to Great Falls for two or three days benefiting the community with entertainment and revenue. The Confero Sports Foundation has traditionally underwritten divisional and state high school basketball tournaments which Great Falls would be unable to successfully bid without the support of the foundation, according to a release.

For the past few years, the Tourism Business Improvement District has provided financial support for bidding the tournaments in partnership with Confero.

Confero has also financially supported many other sporting events and is working toward bringing new major sporting events to Great Falls.
