Former Malmstrom commander nominated for second star
Malmstrom Air Force Base’s former commander has been nominated for another star.
Brig. Gen. Tom Wilcox has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general, or a two-star general.
Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan announced April 3 that the president nominations for a number of Air Force generals, including Wilcox.
Wilcox is currently serving as the director of operations and communications at Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
Before that, Wilcox was the director for strategic plans, programs and requirements at AFGSC.
Wilcox was commander of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom from March 2014 to April 2016. Wilcox assumed command at the 341st in the wake of the cheating investigation and pinned on his first star in May 2017.
