Hoyer selected as new GFPS secondary assistant superintendent
Heather Hoyer has been selected to serve as secondary assistant superintendent for Great Falls Public Schools, taking Tom Moore’s spot when he becomes superintendent on July 1.
Hoyer’s appointment requires board approval, but this week a team of district and community members interviewed four candidates from a pool of nine applicants for the position that is currently held by Moore. The committee selected Hoyer as their recommendation to the board for the position.
Hoyer has been the principal at Great Falls High since 2015.
Before that, she was an associate principal at the school since 2008.
She taught science and coached at GFH from 1996-2007, and from 2005-2007, Hoyer participated in an administrative internship at the middle and high school level, according to a GFPS release.
Hoyer’s husband is also an educator and she also serves as a board member for the Great Falls YWCA.
