Liberty Electric awarded $4.5 million contract at Malmstrom

Liberty Electric was awarded a $4.5 million contract to repair an energy management and control system at Malmstrom Air Force Base.

The contract covers a yearlong project, which includes: installation of an EMCS system via conversion of facilities that do not have BACnet systems in them to a BACnet system; replacement of building controls in each building listed to be compatible with the existing Malmstrom mainframe EMCS system; perform software modifications to the existing Malmstrom mainframe system to establish communications with each new facility; extend the existing base-wide fiber optic communications system with new conduit and fiber optic cable including pull boxes/tap boxes; connecting the central managing computer system to the buildings base-wide via the existing Virtual Local Area Network; programming of all graphical screens and control & monitoring schemes for each building and the entire system; and maintain and complete the “one touch” system to shut off air handling units basewide.

The contract was opened for bids last summer and awarded to Liberty on Jan. 31.
