City reopens proposals for Rec Center cafe

The Park and Recreation Department is again requesting proposals for the full-time operation of a cafe/restaurant at the Community Recreation Center.

The current area consists of 710 sq. ft. of customer seating/serving area, 648 sq. ft. kitchen area with walk in cooler, and 1,420 sq. ft. of additional space adjacent to the restaurant.

The city is interested in providing a quality addition to the Rec Center that will complement the Center, promote a friendly atmosphere, and enhance the use of the facility.

The city requested proposals in November that were due Jan. 11. The city received one proposal before the deadline and another shortly after the deadline. A group of city staffers and a Park and Rec Advisory Board member met to review the proposal that was submitted on time and have decided to reopen the process for proposals.
