County seeking applicants for airport, planning, zoning boards and fire districts

Cascade County is seeking applicants for vacancies on several county boards.

Applications are due by Nov. 30.

The current openings are:

Regional Airport Authority Board

Cascade County is accepting applications for two county resident to serve on the Regional Airport Authority Board for terms through Dec. 31, 2021.

This is a seven member board, three appointed by the County Commission and four appointed by the City Commission. Members serve a three year term. 

The board is responsible for employing the airport director, who hires staff and oversees the day-to-day operation of the airport. 

Meetings are scheduled the last Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. For additional information on the board contact the airport at 727-3404.

Planning Board

The county is seeking applicants for the three vacancies on the board. Each has a two-year term through Dec. 31, 2020.

Board responsibilities include assistance in the development and administration of the Cascade County Development Plan that includes comprehensive planning and the permitting system. The board advises the County Commission on all land use matters and develops and administers subdivision and floodplain regulations. The board usually meets every third Tuesday of each month. Applicants must live in the county.

Zoning Board of Adjustments

The ZBOA has the exclusive power and authority to independently hear and decide zoning appeals and applications for zoning variances and special exceptions, according to state law. The five-member board meets on an as-needed basis. 

The board has three vacancies for two year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2020.

Board members must live in the district or own property in the fire district.

Responsible for governance of local fire district and/or area. Sets policy, approves budget, and maintains finances.
