Rock N Chalk Gymnastics Academy
Michaela Simmons is the new owner of Rock N Chalk Gymnastics Academy and is continuing the Smiley’s legacy. Smiley’s Gymnastics has been in Great Falls for 62 years and chose Simmons to continue the business. The gym is located at 1040 55th Ave. S and can be reached at 590-2656.
The facility is hosting an open gym day from 1-3 p.m. or 4-6 p.m. Sept. 15 to celebrate National Gymnastics Day. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
A hockey pro shop is opening at 809 9th St. S. in September. A soft opening is tentatively planned for Sept. 10.
406 Hockey offers hockey skates, sticks, helmets and hockey accessories. The shop will also have skate sharpening and an oven.
Cakes by Carr
Kaleena Carr and the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 4 to celebrate the bakery’s first anniversary in their retail space at 716 9th St. S.
Site work is underway at the Ace Hardware store at the corner of 10th Avenue South and 36th Street South.
The Design Review Board approved the project in February and the Board of Adjustment approved a variance to reduce the minimum number of parking spaces. Director of Planning and Community Development Craig Raymond also approved a design waiver allowing for slightly narrower parking spaces.
The property owner is proposing demolition of the existing building and the construction of a new 23,100 square foot building on the parcels to the north of the alley and the parking lot on the parcels to the south of the alley.
Spirit Halloween has opened at 721 10th Ave S.
Overtime Sports Bar
Overtime Sports Bar is now open at 3725 2nd Ave. N., in the former Eddie’s Supper Club.
The bar opened without any fanfare and has been open since at least mid-August.
