GFPD seeking information on cats being shot with air guns in the city

Great Falls Animal Control Officers have recently received information of domestic animals possibly getting shot with air guns within the city limits.

Animal Control officers are currently investigating two incidents they believe to be associated that involve cats receiving injuries.

Since investigating the two complaints, ACOs have received additional information through social media sites that there may be multiple unreported incidents of pets being injured, possibly by air guns. The information isn’t confirmed and can’t be investigated without the incidents being reported to ACOs.

On Friday afternoon, the Great Falls Police Department and ACOs asked anyone with information about the incidents or with pets that have been injured to call the ACOs through dispatch at 727-7688 option 5.

“The GFPD would like to remind the public that although social media can be an excellent resource it doesn’t replace actually reporting criminal activity to the police department,” according to a GFPD release.
