Montana Vet Program’s Pig Egg recovered

The Great Falls Police Department said Tuesday afternoon that the agency had recovered the missing pig egg containing about 7,000 dog tags of fallen U.S. troops that had been stolen from Eagle Mount on July 4.

The pig egg belongs to the Montana Vet Program and was inside a truck that had been stolen from Eagle Mount.

GFPD said in a release that officers came in contact with the truck after it attempted to elude officers Monday night during a traffic stop. The truck was found and secured at GFPD and in executing a search warrant, officers found the pig egg in the truck.

We recognize the significance of the pig egg and the dog tags, we are so happy to assist and work closely with the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office in the recovery of this priceless item,” GFPD said in a release.
