Five Montana TV stations for sale, including KRTV in Great Falls
Cordillera Communications is looking to sell 11 of its television stations, including five in Montana.
According to TVNewsCheck.com, a broadcast industry trade publication, Cordillera has hired Methuselah Advisors of New York City to sell those stations in small markets.
Those stations are: KRTV in Great Falls, KPAX in Missoula; KTVQ in Billings, KXLF in Butte and KTVH in Helena.
The company owns four other stations in Montana and it’s unclear how or if they’ll be affected.
Health Heggem, general manger of KRTV, said he was unable to comment on the sale and Cordillera has not yet responded to inquiries.
KRTV has broadcast CBS programming since 1966 in Great Falls and 14 surrounding counties in northern and central Montana, according to the Cordillera website.
KRTV also runs a low-power television station, KXLH, in Helena, according to Cordellera.
KPAX in Missoula also operates KAJ18 in Kalispell.
KTVH is a NBC affiliate and broadcasts the only live newscast in Helena, according to Cordillera. The station operates in conjunction with Great Falls’ NBC affiliate, KBGF, according to Cordillera.
