Local law enforcement was alerted of the potential visit and city department heads were notified in a Monday staff meeting.

Trump might visit Great Falls next week

County officials told The Electric that event organizers had contacted the Expo Park about availability for July 4-5, but had not executed a contract as of Tuesday.

Dwight Holman told The Electric earlier this week that organizers had also contact him seeking information about a potential visit.

The visit is a campaign stop to stump for Matt Rosendale, the Republican opponent to Sen. Jon Tester.

An anti-Trump rally is also being planned for July 5 at the Expo Park. According to a Facebook event post, organizers wrote “this is intended to be a peaceful and nonviolent protest. Our intent is to rally to show Donald Trump that he is not welcome in our city and that Montanans don’t condone hate and we don’t need his help deciding our votes.”
