County approves agreements, contracts for road work

Cascade County Commissioners recently approved an agreement between the county, the City of Great Falls and the Montana Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of 2,250 feet of Stuckey Road from RP 0 to about RP 0.426.

The project will use Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funds and matching funds from the city and county, no earlier than fiscal year 2021.

County prepping for office remodel, vehicle replacements, road improvements

The county is responsible for 540 feet of the total project, with a projected cost to the county of $30,556. The entire project is an estimated $948,708.

Commissioners also awarded a $199,594 contract to United Materials for overlay work on approximately 4,400 lineal feet of 40th Avenue South.

The county had hired Big Sky Civil and Environmental Inc. for engineering services to planning, design and construction supervision of the project.

Bids were due April 11 and the county received two bids, one from United Materials and the other from MRTE, Inc.
