Great Falls is running for $25,000 prize in Main Street contest

Downtown Great Falls has been nominated for the America’s Main Streets contest through Independent We Stand, which is sponsored by STIHL
The winning main street receives $25,000.
Voting is open through April 22 and you can vote once daily per IP address. You can vote for Great Falls here. Butte has also been nominated.
The Great Falls nomination reads that downtown is like any downtown as the heart of the city, but “what sets us apart is that any venture to Great Falls provides a true, authentic Montana experience.”

The city is the world’s Wester Art capital every March and also offers arts, culture and history “in a vibrant, modern community surrounded by expansive, unspoiled and diverse landscapes. Just as the Great Falls area was the basecamp for the Lewis & Clark expedition over 200 years ago, we serve as the basecamp today for a wide range of outdoor adventures.”
BID funded sound system installed along Central Avenue for downtown music
Great Falls is one of three certified Montana Main Street Communities in the state.
Eligible organizations for the contest include downtown improvement districts, business improvement districts, independent business districts, independent business associations, Local First groups and formal Main Street organizations.
