Judges needed for regional science fair hosted at Great Falls College MSU

Great Falls College MSU is hosting the Montana Region II Science and Engineering Fair on March 13 and March 15 and is seeking volunteer judges for both events.

“Judges get to have a lot of fun seeing all of the incredible science projects the students present,” said Dr. Leanne Frost, director of General Studies at Great Falls College MSU. “No science background is needed to judge. Volunteers just need an interest in talking to students about some really interesting projects.”

Judges are especially needed for the middle school/high school fair on March 15. The time commitment for judging is 7:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Volunteers can use their own smartphone or other personal electronic device to judge. If they don’t have a device, the college will have some available.

Volunteer judges can register online at www.gfcmsu.edu/sciencefair or contact Charla Merja at 771-4301.

GFC MSU is expecting 250 to 300 middle school and high school students grades 6-12 to participate in the fair on March 15.

March 13 will feature projects by about 150 elementary school students grades K-5.

Region II includes schools in Glacier, Toole, Liberty, Teton, Pondera, Cascade and Judith Basin counties.
